1. Central PSU Power Grid Corporation of India Limited established e-Tendering Portal-PRANIT:


Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a central PSU, has established an e-Tendering Portal-PRANIT. This will lead to less paperwork, ease of operation and make the tendering process more transparent.
POWERGRID is now the only organization in India to have an eProcurement solution on SAP Supplier Relationship Management, complying with all applicable requirements relating to security and transparency.

2. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu launches book “Bringing Governments and People Closer".


The book "Bringing Governments and People Closer" A development practitioner's prescription was launched through virtual mode on March 20th, 2021 by the Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu.
The book was authored by Dr M Ramachandran, IAS (Retd), Chancellor, The ICFAI University, Dehradun. The ICFAI Group has facilitated the book launch ceremony.

3. Himachal Pradesh CM virtually launches e-Office, e-Heli Service, e-Aagman, e-Lahaul for Lahaul-Spiti district.


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur virtually launched e-Office, e-Heli Service, e-Aagman and e-Lahaul for Lahaul-Spiti district from Shimla.
Chief Minister said that all these services would go a long way in providing people friendly services to the people of Lahaul-Spiti district on click of button.

4. India, Pakistan, China to participate in SCO joint anti-terrorism exercise this year.


The Decision to hold the joint exercise “Pabbi – Terrorism-2021” was announced during the 36th meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure (RATS) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 18th March 2021.
At the meeting, representatives of the SCO members states also approved the draft program of cooperation for 2022-2024 to counter – terrorism, separatism and extremism.

5. ICICI Bank starts instant EMI facility on its net banking platform.


The bank is offering repayment tenures of three months, six months, nine months and 1 year.
With this move, the private sector lender aims to provide increased affordability to millions of pre-approved consumers, as it allows them to convert high-value transactions up to Rs 5 lakh into EMIs.
ICICI has become the first bank in India to offer the facility on its internet banking platform. The bank has tied-up with leading online payment gateway firms -BillDesk and Razorpay.

6. CM of UP Yogi Adityanath launches FPO Shakti portal to benefit farmer.


CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath launches a UP Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) Shakti Portal, a first of its kind in the country, to benefit farmers at grass roots level.
The CM launched the portal as part of Kisan Kalyan Mission at an event in Gorakhpur. The FPO-centric portal will bring farmers, producer groups, traders, agriculture and other allied departments of UP Government on one platform.

7. IRDAI ups max cover under Arogya policy to Rs 10 lakh.


To bring more people under the ambit of health Insurance, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has hiked the maximum cover under the standard health insurance plan – Arogya Sanjeevani Policy – from Rs 5 lakh earlier to Rs 10 lakh.
The insurance regulator has made it mandatory for insurers to offer a sum insured between Rs 50, 000 to Rs 10 lakh under the Arogya Sanjeevani Policy as against the previous range of Rs 1-5 lakh.

8. Nagaland Health Minister launches 'i-Learn' for Community Health Officers.

Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom launched i-Learn, a capacity building and performance tracking application for Community Health Officers, CHOs in the state at his office chamber in Kohima.

9. Delhi University inaugurates Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak to mark 90 years of martyrdom.


DU now has a Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak, which was inaugurated on 90 years of martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapa and Shivaram Rajguru. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank attended it virtually. The minister announced that the existing collection of books and freedom fighters at the smarak will be converted into ‘Shahid Smriti Pustakalaya’. The Bhagat Singh Smarak will remain open for the students and faculty of the university to inculcate values of freedom and sacrifice.

10. Andhra Pradesh to launch India’s first govt run ambulance network for animals.


To further boost the animal husbandry and veterinary sector in Andhra Pradesh, the state government has now decided to set up “India’s first government – run ambulance network” for animals.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has made one of its main missions to help reach out to the distressed animals and provide them with proper animal healthcare. The Animal Husbandry Department has been further directed to set up one Mobile Ambulance Veterinary Clinic at every assembly constituency.

11. Cabinet okays signing of MoU between UPSC, Afghanistan's IARCSC.


Union Cabinet has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), India and Independent Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission (IARCSC), Afghanistan.
The MoU will strengthen the relationship between IARCSC and UPSC.
It will facilitate sharing of experience and expertise of both the institutions in the area of recruitment.

12. UP, MP sign agreement with Centre for Ken-Betwa river interlinking project.


The governments of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh signed a memorandum of agreement with the Union Jal Shakti Ministry to implement the Ken-Betwa river interlinking project.
The agreement was signed on the occasion of World Water Day and during the virtual launch of the 'Catch the Rain Campaign', according to a Uttar Pradesh government statement.

13. Russia launches 38 satellites for 18 countries.


Russia has recently put 38 foreign satellites into orbit after a successful launch from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Video published by the Russian space agency Roscosmos showed its Soyuz rocket launching against grey and cloudy skies at 0607 GMT.

14. ISRO demonstrates free space quantum communication for the first time.


ISRO recently demonstrated free space quantum communication over a distance of 300m for the first time.
The Demonstration included live video conferencing using quantum-key-encrypted signals. This is a major achievement for unconditionally secured satellite date communication using quantum technologies.

15. India, Japan agree for greater cooperation in patent verification.


The agreement was arrived at during the 4th review meeting between the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) last week under Memorandum of cooperation (MoC) on industrial property.

16. World Puppetry Day is observed on 21st March.


The idea came from the puppet theater artist Javad Zolfaghari from Iran. In 2000 at the XVIII Congress of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette, (UNIMA) in Magdeburg, he made the proposal for discussion. Two years later, at a meeting of the International Council of UNIMA in June 2002 in Atlanta, the date of the celebration was identified. The first celebration was in 2003.

17. India's Singhraj wins gold in Para Shooting World Cup 2021.


Indian para-athlete Singhraj won gold medal in the 2021 Para Shooting World Cup at Al Ain in the UAE today. He defeated Uzbekistan's Server Ibragimov to get the top honour in the P1 - Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1 final.

18. Shreyas Iyer Signs Up With Lancashire County For The Royal London One-Day Cup 2021.


The Royal London one-day Cup 2021 tournament will begin from July 22 and Shreyas Iyer will arrive at the Emirates Old Trafford on Thursday 15 July ahead of the start of the 50 over the tournament and will remain with the Lancashire team for the duration of the month-long group stage.

19. World Tuberculosis Day is observed on 24th March.


Each year, we commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24 to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease.
